ClCongratulations to Edie Gao the leader of the IWA-SzDC Club for receiving a scholarship for the New York University in Abu Dhabi worth ~$250,000. Edie Gao has for the past 3 summers worked with girls in a mountain village in Guizhou. She has not only raised money to help with their educational costs but also acted as a mentor, teacher and friend. She is an inspiration to all IWA members. Well done!

On Wednesday 20th January, the IWA Global College team at Jersey College for Girls held an information evening in the College Hall to inform local people of the project and its aim. The students had invited many different people who would hopefully be able to contribute both knowledge and resources to the initiative.
The information evening began with a short presentation about the IWA Global College project given by the founder, Dr. Peter Le Masurier. The people who attended were then given the chance to speak more personally with students about individual aspects about the project. These included advertisement, scholarships, competitions, fundraising and different IWA projects.
The students had spent weeks in advance preparing for the evening, making information boards and sending invitations to the local community.
The overall outcome of the evening was highly successful, with people from companies, the government and community organizations attending and sharing their expertise with the individual project holders.
